Crush of the USA – group final against Sweden near | Hockey

After the first period, the USA had taken a comfortable 3–0 lead and was then able to easily put the game away and eventually win 9–0.

The USA tops Group A after six wins in six games, ahead of Sweden. If Sweden defeats Denmark on Monday, everything is set for a directly decisive match between Sweden and the USA on Tuesday.

In Group B, played in Riga, Switzerland took their sixth straight victory after 4-2 against the Czech Republic. Andres Ambühl was the hero of the match with two goals.

Earlier in the day, Slovakia defeated Slovenia 1-0. Richard Panik scored the game’s only goal in the second period. The result means that Slovenia will be relegated to the B-WC.

Germany defeated Hungary 7–2 to climb to fourth place in Group A.
