Jason Denayer on a walk with a tiger – sawed
Jason Denayer has embraced the luxury lifestyle in Dubai.
The Belgian national team player has acquired … a tiger.
Now he is seen in social media.
It was at the weekend that former Manchester City and Lyon player Jason Denayer, 27, posted a picture on Instagram that sparked outrage.
In the picture, he was seen walking the streets of Dubai – with a tiger on a chain.
“Out and walks with the cat”Denayer wrote.
Status symbol
Having exotic animals as pets – for example tigers or cheetahs – is seen as a status symbol in many Arab countries, but new laws have tightened the possibilities for private individuals to own wild animals and now you risk fines or imprisonment if you are caught.
Denayer was quick to unpublish the image, but according to English media should angry comments have been hailing in the comment field before that.
“What is it with overpaid footballers and animal cruelty?”, “tigers should live in the wild, not be put on a leash to boost some pathetic man’s ego” and “you are a terrible person”read a selection of the comments.
Teammate with Guidetti
Jason Denayer belonged to Manchester City’s youth academy but, like former teammate John Guidetti, was loaned to Scottish Celtic.
In 2018 he went to French Lyon where he spent four years and played over 100 games.
He has also made 35 international appearances for Belgium.
Last fall he signed for the Dubai club Shabab Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.
