It was a mess in Boden’s coaching staff last season. Roger Forsberg left for Östersund, and Per Ljusteräng stepped in.
But now the club has secured a qualified coach.
Joakim Fagervall, who has been active in the Hockeyallsvenskan and SHL for the past 22 years, is now returning to the club.
Between 1999 and 2001, Fagervall worked as an assistant coach at the club before a long hockey journey took off.
– Boden has a good brand outside the country, I think anyway, and also some supporters at the matches. It feels very interesting, he says in Boden’s social media.
Got fired from both Malmö and Djurgården
Fagervall has had a tough time in the past year.
He was fired by Malmö in the SHL in January 2022, but after only one week took over Djurgården, who, however, left the SHL. However, Fagervall had confidence in DIF going into the Hockeyallsvenskan.
But in November he had to leave that assignment when Johan Garpenlöv took over.
Fagervall has otherwise been active in Luleå at SHL level, and at Allsvenskan level he has been in Oskarshamn, Växjö, Tingsryd, Västerås and not least several seasons in Björklöven.
According to information to Expressen, Joakim Fagervall has been relevant for a number of Norwegian clubs before he was presented today as Boden’s coach.
