The Toronto Maple Leafs went out with a bang in the NHL playoffs.
Now there are consequences.
The club announces that general manager Kyle Dubas may leave.
Big investment Toronto Maple Leafs didn’t make it in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this time either.
Admittedly, they advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004 – but there it stopped short against Florida. Even though Toronto had the favorite stamp on them, they clearly lost 1-4 in games and afterwards the criticism was harsh.
Kyle Dubas said at the season-ending press conference that he did not know if he would return to his role as general manager.
Now it is clear that this will not be the case.
“Wish the best”
In a press release, Toronto announces that Dubas, whose contract expires on June 30, will not be renewed.
“We wish Kyle and his family the best for the future and we thank him for his valuable contribution,” said Dubas.
Dubas was the general manager of Toronto for five seasons.
