West Ham are ready for the final – first in 47 years
West Ham had a goal to go for in the second leg against AZ Alkmaar in the Conference League.
And that would be enough for the London club, who persevered and are thus ready for their first European final in 47 years.

Last season, West Ham crashed out of the Europa League in the semi-finals against Frankfurt.
This season, West Ham had another chance at a European final when the team faced Jesper Karlssons AZ Alkmaar in the semi-finals.
And they had learned from last year’s mistakes.

West Ham held a one-goal advantage after winning the first semi-final 2-1. And that would be enough. Despite the fact that Jesper Karlsson was back in the starting eleven after an injury break, the Dutch home team did not manage to get a hole in the London club. The return meeting instead ended with a win for West Ham with 1–0 after a late goal by Pablo Fornals.
The team is thus ready for their first European final in 47 years.

Should West Ham win the final, it would mean the first European title in 58 years. In 1965, the London club won the Cup Winners’ Cup after defeating 1860 Munich in the final 2–0.
In the final, Italian Fiorentina is the opposition.
The Italians trailed by a goal after the first leg against Basel 2-1 at home, but after taking the second leg to extra time, the Florenslaget finally managed to decide in the 129th minute through Antonin Barak.
The final will be played on the seventh of June in Prague.
